Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers
The AFC Champ Pittsburgh Steelers are now set to make their selection in the SB Nation Arizona mock draft. Pittsburgh, despite coming within a last-minute drive of having another championship banner, have a few needs. Their most glaring need is at cornerback, but they have needs at many positions on defense. Likewise there are needs on the offensive line.
With the greatest needs on defense, the pick will come as a surprise. For the Steelers, I select:
Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
Texas cornerback Aaron Williams might be the most logical choice here, considering their need at corner, but when Carimi unexpectedly falls all the way to the end of the first round, they simply cannot let him go away. His size and tenacity of blocking will go nicely with the Pittsburgh way of doing things -- run the football and have great defense. Carimi, although he may not be projected as a left tackle, will certainly enjoy run blocking. The power running game of Wisconsin he was used to playing in college will translate well to the pros in this system. Mike Tomlin will be a very happen man knowing who he is getting.
The final pick of the SBN AZ mock draft is tomorrow and the Green Bay Packerswill make their pick. Cory Williams will be their representative GM.

Check out the mock draft on the Arizona Cardinals team blog Revenge of the Birds to see who both the community and the writers are projecting.
