iPad 2 Singapore

GADGET-LOVERS in Singapore can finally get their hands on Apple's eagerly anticipated iPad2.
The tablet computer officially goes on sale here today, a month after its United States launch. Ten other markets, including Hong Kong and Korea, will also start selling it today.
It will be available in Singapore at Apple's authorised retailers such as EpiCentre, Challenger and Best Denki.
The basic 16GB Wi-Fi model costs $668, while the highest-end version with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity and 64GB storage is $1,108. The thinner, lighter, faster iPad 2 first went on sale on March 11 in the US, followed by a launch in 25 countries, such as Australia and Canada, on March 25.
The original iPad took about four months to officially hit Singapore stores after its launch in March last year. More than 15 million of the tablet have been sold worldwide.
The iPad 2's Japanese launch - originally planned for March 25 - was delayed by about a month due to the earthquake and tsunami, and the device went on sale in Japan only yesterday. But Apple has met its April deadline for Singapore.
