Tax documents show Bristol Palin earned more than $A250,000 for her role in helping raise awareness for teen pregnancy prevention in 2009.
Data about the Candie's Foundation posted online by research firm GuideStar shows compensation at $US262,500 for the now 20-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee.
When appointed to the ambassador role for the New York-based foundation in 2009, Ms Palin, then 18, said she felt she could be a living example of the consequences of teen pregnancy.
''If I can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant, I will feel a sense of accomplishment,'' she said.
Ms Palin and Levi Johnston, father of two-year-old Tripp, are no longer together.
