Arunima Sinha alias Sonu, a national level player, who had dreamt of representing the country, could not do so but she still has a dream i. e. to open an sports academy. And she is close to fulfilling this dream. As the financial assistance for the athlete is pouring in after she lost a leg after being pushed out from a moving train, she will set up the academy as soon as she recovers.
The 23-year-old football and volleyball player, who is still bed-ridden at a hospital wishes to set up a sports academy for poor and rural children.

"Sonu has a dream of setting up a sports academy. Now, as she herself cannot play any longer, I want her dream of setting up the academy to turn into a reality," said her mother Gyanbala.
She said Arunima wants to donate the financial assistance she has received to her proposed sports academy.
It is to be noted that cricketer Yuvraj Singh too has decided to donate her Rs. 1 Lakh. Before this Railway, Sports ministry and UP government have already declared financial assistance to the athlete.
