Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal vs Liverpool
Having been massively rejuvenated since the obvious arrival of Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool are already planning to battle for the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool have not won the English Premier League since their last triumph in 1990, which was con-incidentally under Kenny Dalglish. From then on, the Reds have undergone a roller-coaster ride that saw them even lift the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006.

However, considering that the circumstances at Anfield are back to a conventional mood, Kenny Dalglish is already planning well ahead for next season's aim and aspirations. Sir Alex Ferguson inevitably started his mind games by admitting that Liverpool must be considered as title challengers for next season after their impressive resurgence under King Kenny.

Dalglish said: "We want to get this season over first and see what happens. But he's [Fergie] not usually wrong is he? If someone is setting the bar high, we have to get to that level. We are not there yet but hopefully we will get there.

"We have Steven Gerrard to come back next year and, if you add that to our firepower, it starts to look a bit ominous."

Liverpool travel to North London tonight as they take on Arsenal in a crunching Premier League tie. A win for Liverpool will virtually end Arsenal's title hopes- which in turn allows Manchester United to comfortably wrap up their record-breaking 19th title. While Dalglish stressed that he will not want to see United win the title, a win against Arsenal is absolutely crucial for their own European dreams as well.

He said: "There is nothing we can do about that. Losing against Arsenal will hurt the players and myself - we can't concern ourselves with what somebody else feels.

"It has surprised me Liverpool haven't won a championship since 1991. If you don't win enough points, you don't get any prizes.

"We have still won five European Cups, though - so there is a bit of history to hang on to.''
